Kelsey, Josh, Lilac (Holstein), Emily (Simmental)) + two dogs- Enzo and Jake, rubber boots, Christmas antlers and camouflage all on the windiest day of the year. In fact, it was so cold and windy that I wore a snowsuit, (no snow, just planning ahead). The session was made up of serious times, and some seriously funny moments. Kelsey is a good friend of mine and a true cowgirl- you may have seen her with her beautiful gray mare Ginny in this past photo session.
I’m officially calling this session (my first photo session with cows) “Beef meets Dairy”. Kelsey works for the BC Dairy Association and Josh, well, he has a beef cow and the cows (who never met before) were on pretty good behavior. The dogs, unfortunately, had ideas of their own which did not include staying still for photos. So, we did the best we could with all the animals and those of us with 2 legs were pretty darn frozen at wrap up. A special thank you to the Postma family for letting me tear around in their farm’s golf cart- it sure beat packing my gear down dirt roads and through fields while wearing a snowsuit.
